Faux Fishtail Braid Tutuorial

Fishtail braids can be really time consuming.  This style has a similar look that is much faster and still really cute!  I like to pull a few of the hairs so that it has a more pancaked look. This is great for when your in a rush but need a cute style.  Enjoy!

Braids Crossed Over

Here is a super cute hairstyle tutorial I recreated from @prettylittlebraids for her 2nd year giveaway.  Shelly has amazing skill and is super creative, if you haven't seen her on instagram already you should go check her account out!
First I started by dividing her hair into four sections.  The top sections I split into three and braid each of the three sections so all together there are six.  Then, I just started crossing the braids over, into the opposite side, lower pony and put an elastic in to hold them in place.

Pull Through Braid With Micro Braids

This braid is the standard pull through braid with little braids going through as well.

I started with her hair in a half pony and divided it into 4 sections.  The middle two sections I braided all the way down, I did a french braid but any braid would look cute.  Underneath the half pony I sectioned off more hair and put it in an elastic, divided it into 4 sections and braided the middle two all the way down again.  After this I just did a pull through braid and placed the braids on top of the rest of the hair to bring them forward so you could see them.   I like to pancake out the hair to make the braid look fuller as I go. Enjoy!

Loops and Braids

Here is a fun hairstyle tutorial with lots of loops and braids.  I did a diagnol part for pigtails, I love the way the diaganol part adds a little bit of style to the hair!  Enjoy!

Stacked French and Bubble Braid

Here is a tutorial on french braid on top of a bubble braid. It takes just a little longer then a regular bubble braid.
Ive seen where some people just do the single braid all the way down and add hair to it to create the bubble effect behind the braid, we tried it that way but found her hair was not quite long enough to get the full effect.  Thats when I decided to do it this way!  Hope you enjoy!

Gathered Bubble Braid

Bubble braids are really fun and pretty simple.  For those who aren't confident in their braiding skills, the bubble braid is perfect.  It is essentially just a pony tail into another pony tail.  Here is a fun bubble style Im calling a gathered bubble braid.

Disclaimer*
I apologize in advance the video is fuzzy, Im trying to find a way to fix it.  I thought about just filming it again but watching her pick her nose in fast motion was pretty funny.
Enjoy!

Four Braids Crossed into Messy Buns

For her hair I like to do more than just a pony tail or pigtails or it won't stay in for the whole day. For this hairstyle I started by parting the hair so all the hair around the face was left out.  I then parted the hair down the middle of the back and put it into pigtails.  Enjoy recreating.

Overnight Waves

My girls love doing this and we end up doing it about once a week. It's great because then I have a little less stress about doing their hair in the morning before school. (Did I mention they start elementary school at 7:30 here?! Way too early!)

To do this you need to have wet hair, so it is better if you do it after shower and baths. Comb through the hair. To keep it from being frizzy in the morning I put in some mousse. I like to use Tresseme Extra Hold Mousse, it keeps the waves in all day, sometimes they will last a couple of days, and it keeps the hair from being frizzy.

After you have combed the mousse through the hair divide into four sections. The more sections you do, the small the braids and the tighter the wave will be. The less sections you do, the bigger the braid will be and the looser the wave will be. I have found the four braids work really well, the braids are small enough you get a good wave and they have enough time to dry overnight. If you do too big of braids they might not have enough time to dry overnight.

Take the first section and do a french braid all the way down .

Take the next section and braid it. Continue to do this for all sections of hair.

Then you let it dry overnight.

In the morning take out the braids, use your fingers to comb through them and you are left with gorgeous waves! Now if you want you can pull it into a ponytail, half ponytail, or just leave it down. It looks great either way!

Double Braided Heart

With Valentine's Day coming up I thought it'd be fun to do some more heart tutorials! Heart hair styles generally look more complicated then they really are, and I love how cute they turn out.  This one is a double braided heart into a pony tail.

Dutch Braid with Two Pull-Through Braids Pulled into a Bun

This was a really fun hairstyle to do. It is cute and fun and the best part is, is that it stays in all day!

Okay here we go!

First section off hair at the front of the head. pull it into a dutch braid and braid all the way down.

Next you're going to section off another section of hair and do a pull-through braid.

You are going to do it all the way down.

Then you are going to do another pull through braid with another section of hair.

Pull all three braids into a bun.

 Isn't it cute! Enjoy!

Stacked Pull Through Braid

Here is a stacked pull through tutorial. Every now and then when we know it's going to be a rush to get out of the house in the morning we use this braid. I'll do her hair at night before bed so in the morning her hair looks great and we can get on our way a little faster, and you'd never know its been in all night!

Minnie Mouse Bows

The last few weeks this little one has been all about Minnie Mouse!  From toys, to clothes, to sining the ENTIRE Minnie Mouse Bowtique song its been all  about Minnie Mouse.  So I decided to make this Minnie Mouse inspired hairstyle.  She absolutely loves it and comes together pretty fast!

Ponytail with Dutch Braid

This cute hairstyle is great because it stays in all day and is pretty simple to do, but looks cute and trendy.

Start with hair parted.

Take a small section in the front and braid it into a dutch braid.

Next take a small section of hair from underneath in the back and do a dutch braid.

Now you are going to pull the hair into a ponytail, bring the braid that you did first into the ponytail. Leave the braid on the bottom out of the ponytail.

With the braid you left out you are going to pull it up, wrap it around the ponytail and bobby pin it into place.

There you have it!

French Braid Wrap Around Ponytail

OK all, it's been a little bit, but we are back with some fun hairstyles!  Its a ponytail with a french braid wrap around. My girl loved having something different done with her ponytail! What I love about it, is that it stays in her hair all day long!

It's cute right?! Ok lets get started!

So here we go! Start off with the hair in a ponytail. At the top of the ponytail start a braid.

Now you are going to just continue braiding bringing strands of hair in as you braid, wrapping it around the ponytail as you go. When you get to the back braid without bringing strands in and wrap it back around to the front and begin the french braid again.

When you get down to the bottom just continue braiding until you ran out of hair!

Two Pigtails into a Single Dutch Braid

This is another easy and quick hairstyle that is pretty fun to do. When finished it looks a bit like a heart which will be great for Valentines next month!
All we used were a few elastic hairbands, a spray bottle (to minimize the frizz), a comb and a ribbon to tie at the bottom.
Not shown in the video; I parted her hair down the middle all the way down the back and pulled each side into a pony tail.

Outside Pull Through Braid

I love doing pull through braids on my little one because they stay in throughout the day regardless of all the somersaults, shirt changes, jumping and nap time that goes on in our house.  Hairstyles that will last all day are a huge plus in my book.
Here is a tutorial of a pull through braid that is a bit different. Its a little bit backwards from the one I usually do.

Star Tutorial

This is a cute, fun hairstyle your little ones will love!  She is currently learning shapes so when she saw her hair once it was finished she was very excited!
When I fix her hair I use a spray bottle of water,  small plastic rubber bands, a comb, and a bow or ribbon to match her outfit(this is optional of course).  You can use hairspray if you'd like to as well to help the fly aways stay put.  Her hair has a lot of natural curl to it and dries into ringlets, you  can always use a wand or curling iron to create your own curls.
